Several roads in Islamabad are currently blocked due to upcoming peace talks between the US and Iran in the federal capital. Everyone is waiting for the normal days in Islamabad. However, the Islamabad administration has not issued any deadline for the reopening of the road.
Citizens in Islamabad are indeed facing temporary difficulty, but the roads will open after the second round of peace talks in Islamabad.
Pakistan as a key mediator
Pakistan played an important role as a key mediator between the US and Iran. The first round of talks between the US and Iran happened in Islamabad. However, neither the US nor Iran have not reached an agreement. The US Vice President JD Vance, in his press conference after the talks, thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.
Roads closed amid Security concerns
Multiple roads in Islamabad were closed for the safe passage of high officials and delegations from other countries. On the other hand, Pakistan is playing its role in arranging secure and safe environments for the guests from other countries. Security concerns are one of the big reasons for the road closure in Islamabad.
On the other hand, the Islamabad administration opened the alternative roads for the citizens to travel safely.
Alternative traffic plan
Traffic will be diverted to Club Road in case of the closure of Park Road and then diverted again to Tramri Chowk to keep the traffic flowing.
The police have advised commuters to use designated paths and to cooperate with the police to minimise inconvenience.
Although there are wide-ranging restrictions, traffic police made it clear that the Blue Area business district has not been completely closed down and some form of commercial activity is still possible.
