A student of the Government College University (GCU) Faisalabad, was found dead after committing suicide in the nearby hostel.

The hostel staff informed the police, who reached them in time and started their investigation.

According to the police officials, the deceased was a male student, and he committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling with the bedsheet.

The deceased was identified as Amjad. He was from the district of Jhang and was currently enrolled in the department of communication and media studies.

The financial loss in this business might be the motive for Amjad’s suicide, said the officials.

Meanwhile, the police have not concluded their investigation as they said that every angle is being investigated.

The police handed over the dead body of Amjad to his family after the completion of legal formalities.

The recent incident has raised concerns among the students in the hostel and also in the campus.

They are calling for greater awareness and appropriate counselling about mental health and financial pressure being faced by students of their age.

It was not the first incident that happened in the educational institution of Pakistan.

The consecutive deaths of the students at the University of Lahore are recent examples.

The question is what the government has done to tackle such situations, and whether the government has a proper roadmap to overcome such emotional and extreme acts.
