Students faced mismanagement at the exam centres for A-level, O-level and International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) in the capital, Islamabad.
According to a post on X, on April 29, when the students arrived at the exam centres for the test, at Monal Marquee and Paradise Marquee, they had to face rude behaviour by the management.
The invigilators were not even well-informed about the students’ venues, even.
The students who had already arrived at the exam centres and were positioned at their seats for giving the exam were asked to leave, reasoning that they were not in their correct exam centre.
The staff of the centres mentioned that it was not their venue for the exam.
The mismanagement among the centre’s staff created panic in the students, as their parents were headed home after dropping them off at their centres.
According to the media reports, there were also female students present at the exam centres, who faced a lot of distress due to the negligence of the officials.

The students said that the exam centres were changed just at the moment, without even a prior notice or a single email notification.
The students were sent back and forth between the Monal and Paradise Marquee.
The last-minute change in the centres made it impossible for many students to reach the centre in time, and they could not take their exam.
The students were told by the officials conducting the exams that they would be given an extra time period, but this promise was never fulfilled.
As per the records, the mismanagement has been reported yearly now.
Every year, the exams of O-level, A-level, and IGCSE are conducted by the Cambridge International Education.
No response has been given to the mismanagement by the officials so far.
O Levels (for students aged 14–16) and A Levels (for ages 16–19) are globally recognised Cambridge qualifications.
O Levels provide students with a broad academic foundation across multiple subjects, while A Levels focus on specialised subject areas designed to prepare students for university education.
