The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), on Friday, has forecast rain in different parts of Pakistan over the next 24 hours between May 2 and 4, while most plains are expected to face hot and dry weather.
According to the department, rainfall with thunder is likely in Islamabad, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and the Potohar region.
In addition to these areas, rain accompanied by strong winds is also expected in upper and southeastern Punjab, as well as Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and Kashmir.
However, most other parts of the country are likely to experience hot and dry weather.
Rain expected in next 24 hours
The cities that are expected to see rain are Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Khushab, Sargodha, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Jhang, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Layyah, Multan and Khanewal between May 2 and May 4.
Meanwhile, partly cloudy conditions are expected in Murree and the Galiyat. Dusty winds are also likely to affect Sindh and the central and southern districts of the country.
Rain hit the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad yesterday. The sudden pour brought a pleasant change in the weather for the residents of the twin cities.

However, it also raised concerns among health authorities about the possible spread of dengue, reports suggest.
Reports say that rainwater collected on roads has created puddles, which can become breeding grounds for dengue mosquitoes.
The rain began in the evening and continued for about half an hour. Some areas even saw hailstorms.
The day started sunny, and people had to deal with scorching heat, but clouds covered the sky later in the afternoon.

According to the PMD, 14 mm of rain was recorded at Saidpur, 1 mm at Golra, 5 mm at Bokra and 6 mm at Zero Point in Islamabad.
In Rawalpindi, 6 mm was recorded at Shamsabad, 1 mm at Kutchery, 4 mm at Pirwadhai and 1 mm at Gawalmandi. The department has forecast hot weather for today.
A Met official said continental air is affecting most parts of the country, while a shallow westerly system is influencing northern areas, reports say.
Mostly hot and dry weather is expected across the country, with very hot conditions in southern regions.
However, light rain or thunderstorms may occur at isolated places in upper KP, GB and Kashmir.
