In the PSL 11 final, Hyderabad Kingsmen set a target of 130 runs for Peshawar Zalmi. In the decisive match at Gaddafi Stadium, Zalmi’s captain won the toss and chose to field first. The decision proved effective, as Peshawar’s bowlers kept Hyderabad under pressure.
Although Hyderabad began their innings aggressively, they failed to maintain momentum and were bowled out in the 18th over.
The Kingsmen made good use of the power play, reaching 69 for the loss of two wickets. However, they then lost four wickets for just four runs.
After the power play, their batting lineup collapsed, with wickets falling in quick succession. Captain Leboshan scored 20, Moaz Sadaqat 11, Usman Khan 8, Irfan Khan 1, and Glenn Maxwell was dismissed for a duck, while Kusal Perera managed just one run.
The Kingsmen made full use of the power-play, building a strong opening partnership of 69 runs for the loss of two wickets. However, momentum shifted quickly as they lost four wickets for just four additional runs.
Once the power play ended, the innings unravelled completely, with wickets falling in quick succession and the batting order unable to recover.
Captain Leboshan top-scored with 20 runs, while Moaz Sadaqat contributed 11 and Usman Khan added 8. Irfan Khan and Glenn Maxwell were dismissed for ducks, and Kusal Perera managed only a single run.
Earlier, Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and chose to field against Hyderabad Kingsmen in the decisive match of Pakistan Super League Season 11.
The final match being played at Gaddafi Stadium, Zalmi captain Babar Azam won the toss and opted to field, inviting Hyderabad to bat first.
While Peshawar Zalmi are determined to win the title for the second time, Hyderabad Kingsmen, participating in the tournament for the first time, are eager to become champions.
Speaking to the media before the match, Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam said that winning the trophy is every captain’s dream, and the team would aim to deliver a strong performance in the final without any pressure. He expressed confidence in the team’s excellent form and momentum and reaffirmed their determination to lift the trophy.
On the other hand, Hyderabad Kingsmen captain Marnus Labuschagne said that anything is possible with confidence and belief. Describing the team’s journey so far as very special, he added that they would do their best to make the tournament memorable with a victory. Both teams are now focused on the PSL 11 trophy.
