Jetour has introduced a new plug-in hybrid version of its T2 SUV in Pakistan, adding an electrified option to its growing local lineup.
The T2 PHEV was unveiled on Monday, marking the company’s next step beyond traditional petrol vehicles. Jetour had earlier brought the T1 and T2 petrol variants to the market, but this latest model reflects a shift towards better fuel efficiency and lower running costs.
The move comes as buyer preferences begin to change. Large SUVs in Pakistan are no longer judged only by size or road presence. Many buyers are now paying closer attention to fuel savings, hybrid technology, and modern safety features.
The new T2 PHEV keeps the bold, boxy design seen in the petrol version, but adds a plug-in hybrid system aimed at reducing petrol use, especially in city driving. This setup is expected to offer a mix of electric and petrol power, giving drivers more flexibility and potentially lower fuel bills.
While full technical details have not yet been shared, the SUV is likely to include a range of premium features. These are expected to include digital displays, advanced driver-assistance systems, and multiple driving modes, in line with global trends in this segment.
Before this launch, Jetour had already introduced two SUVs in Pakistan.
The T1 is positioned as a more city-friendly option. It comes with a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, producing 184 horsepower and 270 Nm of torque. The model also offers features such as a large infotainment screen, panoramic sunroof, six airbags, and advanced safety systems.
The larger T2, in its petrol form, targets buyers looking for a stronger road presence and off-road capability. It is equipped with a 2.0-litre engine that delivers 244 horsepower and 375 Nm of torque, along with an automatic gearbox.
Jetour has not disclosed the price of the T2 PHEV so far.
