Shocking details have emerged in the abduction and murder of a young man, Farrukh Afzal, from a posh sector of Islamabad the other day.
Farrukh Afzal, 31 year old, was kidnapped from his house in Islamabad’s posh area of F-6/1 when three to four armed men forcefully entered his house and abducted him at 12am midnight in front of his parents who upon resistance were shot at.
Kohsar police registered a case on a complaint filed by his father who said he heard a commotion around midnight and witnessed four to five unidentified men forcibly taking his son.
The police found his tortured body from Swabi Interchange early Tuesday morning and shifted to PIMS for post-mortem.
The police in a joint action also arrested a suspect identified as Saifullah who is son of a DSP of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police and also arrested his female accomplice.
The incident has not only sparked widespread outrage but also raised questions about the motives behind the brutal abduction.
Why was Farrukh killed?
According to reports, Farrukh Afzal belonged to the “Haleem Ghar” family and had recently sold a plaza in F-8 for Rs 1.5 billion, leading investigators to initially suspect a kidnapping-for-ransom case.
However investigator belief that the case involved blackmail. Farrukh had allegedly been involved in a past relationship with a woman, and after their separation, he allegedly began threatening her with private photos and videos.
The woman reportedly sought help from a friend, Saifullah, who is the only son of a serving DSP, to resolve the matter.
The suspect has reportedly admitted to investigators that Farrukh was kidnapped as a form of retribution for the blackmail. He claimed that during the transfer to Swat, Farrukh resisted, leading to his death.
Sources add the girl allegedly hired the constable. Two contract killers were also brought from Swat.
She reportedly kept them at her flat in F-11. She also shared the victim’s house location, from where the young man was abducted.
After the kidnapping, the girl travelled separately towards Swat. During the journey, the victim was killed. His body was later thrown from the motorway, sources claim.
Investigators say the girl and three of her friends were involved. This is where the case originated.
Further details are being withheld to avoid distress to the families. Officials say more facts will come through legal proceedings.
At present, a 19-year-old girl from Mardan and the DSP’s son are in custody.
