Islamabad High Court (IHC) has announced to remove the name of YouTuber Rajab Butt from the Passport Control List (PCL). Justice Azam Khan directed authorities to remove the name of YouTuber Rajab Butt from the PCL immediately.
The court said in its verdict that the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) added the name of famous YouTuber Rajab Butt in the PCL. However, the Deputy Attorney General told the court that NCCIA has no further objection to removing the name of Rajab Butt from PCL.
The Islamabad High Court confirmed that authorities can add the name of any individual in PCL as per the Passport Act, but this power is not unlimited, and it should be used justifiably and legally.
The court also stated that before adding the name of YouTuber Rajab Butt in PCL, the authorities had not issued any show cause notice to him. If any individual is under trial, his name can’t be added to the PCL, the court said.
