Over 52,000 Pakistani hajj pilgrims reach Saudi Arabia

52,195 Pakistani hajj pilgrims have currently reached Saudi Arabia from Pakistan. They travelled on a total of 207 flights. A private media channel reported on Saturday.

The details suggest that about forty four per cent of Hajj pilgrims who were travelling on the government quota have now reached Saudi Arabia.

In Madinah till now 135 hajj flights have landed. 72 flights have also landed in Jeddah. About 1090 field volunteers of the Pakistan Hajj mission are currently active in the field to facilitate pilgrims.

When it comes to the private scheme about 12,111 pilgrims have landed in Saudi Arabia.

About 85 per cent of the pilgrims who travelled on Hajj quota have reached Saudi Arabia and are currently residing in Makkah and 15 per cent of them are residing in Madinah.  

For the guidance and help of pilgrims about 652 pilgrim servants are deployed. In addition to this 255 medical staff and 183 religious affairs officials were also deployed to serve the pilgrims.

From this service squad about 791 of them are performing their duties in Makkah and 280 in Madinah and 19 of them are serving in Jeddah.

The transport plan for Hajj pilgrims is also in place, with about 230 buses available providing operational support to Hajj pilgrims.

In another related development a new rule has been announced by Saudi Arabia relating to the minimum age for Hajj.

According to the new rule, children under 15 will not be able to accompany pilgrims.

Pakistan Aviation Authority’s spokesperson said that the directive took effect from May 3, 2026.

According to the new policy, no pilgrim who is below the age of 15 will be able to travel on Hajj flights.

The spokesperson further clarified that all Hajj visas that have been issued to children under 15 have been cancelled.
