PM Shehbaz Meets Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman

Web desk: Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif held a meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to discuss matters of mutual interest.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman received Pakistani Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the Yamama Palace, where the two leaders discussed matters of mutual interest.

Field Marshal Asim Munir is also present in the meeting.

According to Saudi media, the meeting focused on Pak-Saudi relations, investment, and economic cooperation.

The Crown Prince reaffirmed his commitment to further strengthen ties with Pakistan.

PM Shehbaz in Riyadh

Previously, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Saudi Arabia on Monday to represent Pakistan at the Ninth Edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII9) in Riyadh.

The PM is visiting at the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and will lead a high-level Pakistani delegation during the trip.

The delegation includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and the Prime Minister’s aides Tariq Fatemi and Bilal Bin Saqib, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

PM Shehbaz was received at King Khalid International Airport by Riyadh Deputy Governor Muhammad bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki, and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmad Farooq.

It was reported prior that on the sidelines of the summit, the Prime Minister will meet with leaders of participating countries, heads of international organisations, and major investors to highlight Pakistan’s investment opportunities and commitment to sustainable economic growth.

The statement given by the Foreign Office stated, “On the sidelines of FII9, the Prime Minister will also interact with leaders from other participating countries and heads of international organisations. These exchanges will highlight Pakistan’s investment potential and its readiness to pursue collaborations in sustainable development, in line with the “Think, Exchange, and Act” model.”

The visit seeks to advance Pakistan’s economic diplomacy, emphasising strategic partnerships in technology, renewable energy, and infrastructure development, in line with the “Think, Exchange, and Act” framework promoted by the FII platform.
