Syed Nazar Hussain assumes charge as CC of KP Information Commission

Syed Nazar Hussain Shah has formally assumed charge as Chief Commissioner of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Commission.

Earlier, the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, through its Information and Public Relations Department, issued a notification of his appointment on May 12, 2026, under Notification No. SO(IPR)/17790439212248129/2026.

Upon his arrival at the Commission’s office, Syed Nazar Hussain Shah was received by senior officers and staff, marking the formal beginning of his tenure.

An introductory meeting was also held on the occasion, during which he met Commission officials and discussed the institution’s mandate, ongoing initiatives, and future priorities.

Speaking on the occasion, Syed Nazar Hussain Shah reiterated his commitment to promoting transparency, accountability and citizens’ right to information in the province.

He emphasised the importance of the effective implementation of the Access to Information Act and said that all available resources and capabilities would be utilised to further improve the institution’s performance and public service delivery.

Senior officers welcomed his appointment and expressed hope that his leadership and extensive administrative experience would play a significant role in achieving the Commission’s objectives.
