Six sacrificial animal markets to be set up across Rawalpindi Division

A high-level review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Engineer Amir Khattak to finalise arrangements for sacrificial animal markets ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.

The meeting reviewed key administrative arrangements, including security, cleanliness, traffic management, and civic facilities for the government-run cattle markets across the Rawalpindi Division.

According to the briefing, a total of six sacrificial animal markets will be established in the Rawalpindi division, which will remain operational 24 hours a day from May 16 until Eid-ul-Azha.

In Attock district, three cattle markets will be established: the first on Peshawar Road, Attock; the second on Pindi Gheb Road; and the third near Civil Hospital on the CPEC Link Road.

In Chakwal district, a cattle market will be set up at Chak Nauranga Top on Rawalpindi Road, while in Talagang district, a market will be established on Mianwali Road near the main bypass.

In addition, a cattle market will also be set up at Mangal Bypass near Kallar Syedan in the Rawalpindi Division.

Alongside government-designated markets, traditional cattle markets will continue to operate on their scheduled days. The district administration has also identified special sale points in respective districts, and the sale and purchase of sacrificial animals will not be allowed anywhere except these designated locations.

The Deputy Commissioner of Rawalpindi has designated eight sale points in the Rawalpindi district. These include locations near Bhata Chowk, Mouza Sheikhpur, Mouza Raniyal on Chakri Road, and near Police Station Rawat on GT Road in Rawalpindi Cantt.
