Arsenal has officially been declared the champions of the 2025/26 Premier League, securing the title with a game remaining, following an extraordinary season in N5 that resulted in their 14th top-flight championship.
After Arsenal’s narrow 1-0 victory over Burnley last night, their closest rivals, Manchester City, needed to defeat Bournemouth to create a scenario for a final-day title decider.
However, a 1-1 draw at the Vitality Stadium resulted in Arsenal being crowned champions.
It is importnat to note that this trophy marks Mikel Arteta as the first manager of the Gunners to achieve English football’s premier accolade in 22 years, following the legacy of Arsene Wenger’s Invincibles, who were the last team to win the Premier League without a loss during the 2003/04 season.
Arsenal has achieved 25 victories out of 37 league matches thus far, with seven draws and only five losses, placing them at the top of the standings after finishing as runners-up in the last three seasons.
A strong defensive strategy has enabled the team to maintain 19 clean sheets, with David Raya earning the Golden Glove for the third consecutive season, contributing to the best defensive record this year, while only Manchester City can surpass their tally of 69 goals scored to date.
Arsenal now has the opportunity to conclude one of the most remarkable seasons in their 140-year history by adding another title when they travel to Budapest next week to compete in their second Champions League final.
They will confront the reigning champions, Paris Saint-Germain, on Saturday, May 30, as they strive to secure their first European Cup victory in their 139-year history.
