Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari announced a complete ban on fireworks, aerial firing, one-wheeling, and the public display of weapons on Chand Raat, warning that strict action will be taken against violators. She said law enforcement agencies have been directed to ensure full implementation of the restrictions to maintain peace and public safety during Eid celebrations.
She stated that leave of all officers and employees associated with the ‘Suthra Punjab’ program has been cancelled to ensure effective cleanliness arrangements during Eidul Azha.
She added that foolproof security arrangements have been made for mosques and Imambargahs, while transporters will not be allowed to overcharge passengers. In case of violations, route permits and fitness certificates will be cancelled.
She expressed these views during an important press conference held alongside Punjab Housing Minister Bilal Yasin at DGPR. She said that, under the instructions of the Chief Minister of Punjab, full preparations for Eidul Azha are underway.
She strongly condemned the tragic incident that took place in Balochistan, paid tribute to the martyrs, and expressed condolences to the affected families. Uzma Bukhari said that an operation against Fitna-Al-Khawarij is ongoing in Pakistan and that terrorists are engaged in heinous activities, which she strongly condemned.
She said that many people are travelling to their hometowns for Eid, therefore strict action will be taken against vehicles lacking fitness certificates, and such vehicles will be stopped. One-wheeling, aerial firing, fireworks, and the display of weapons will not be allowed on Chand Raat. In addition, swings installed in parks will also be required to obtain fitness certificates.
Uzma Bukhari said that 160,000 houses will be completed by June, while the Chief Minister of Punjab has directed that 120,000 houses be constructed every year. She stated that the “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” program has significantly improved people’s lives.
She further said that India’s proxies are not limited to Afghanistan alone, and that Pakistan has exposed Indian and Afghan-backed proxies before the world. Uzma Bukhari stated that the blood of more than thirty martyrs will not go in vain, and the nation will never forget their sacrifices.
