KARACHI: Following rising complaints against the E-challan system, Karachi Traffic Police have launched 11 help centers in several parts of the metropolis.
The Karachi Traffic Police, on its Facebook page, stated that “If citizens have any complaints regarding the E-challan system, they can contact these facilitation centers.”
The Facebook post further stated “Besides that, people can also get any information regarding the E-ticketing system or E-challan system from these centers.”
The Karachi Traffic Police have established 11 facilitation centers across city, which include one at SP East Traffic office near Munawar Chowrangi in Gulistan-e-Jauhar.

- SP Malir Traffic Office near Quaidabad Chowk.
- Police Facilitation Center, Korangi Road near McDonald’s Karachi.
- Traffic Section Secretariat, Aiwan-e-Sadar Road.
- Traffic Section Sadar, main Shahra-e-Faisal.
- Traffic Section Preedy, Preedy Police Station.
- Traffic Section Ferozabad, Nursery main Shahra-e-Faisal.
- Traffic Section Shahra-e-Faisal, Drig Road.
- Traffic Section Korangi, Brookes Chowrangi, Korangi Industrial area.
Citizens can visit these centres from Monday to Saturday, 9:00 am to 9:00 pm.
Karachi’s New E-Challan System
Sindh government has launched a Karachi E-challan system to improve traffic flow and traffic management in the city.
In Phase 1, 1,076 cameras have been installed on major roads under the Karachi Safe City Project.
Phases 2 and 3 will expand to 12,000+ cameras across the city and toll plazas.
When a camera detects a violation, an e-challan is created and sent by Pakistan Post to the address linked with your number plate (Sindh Excise & Taxation data).
You have 21 days to pay. Pay within 14 days and get a 50% waiver, miss the deadline and the fine doubles on day 22.
Moreover, provincial administration introducing new governance tools to to improve city’s administration.
Karachi E-challan: cameras, fines & how to appeal
Enforcement results (Day 1): Within the first six hours, Karachi Traffic Police issued 2,662 E-challans over Rs12 million in fines.
Key counts: 1,535 for not wearing seat belts, 507 for riding without helmets, 419 for over speeding, 166 for running red lights.
Moreover, 32 for mobile phone use while driving, 7 for tinted windows and 3 each for wrong way driving.
Penalties if you don’t pay: After 3 months, your driving license can be suspended.
Similarly, after 6 months, police may ask NADRA to block your CNIC (you’ll be notified first).
Additionally, a demerit points system is live, reach 30 points in a year and your license can be suspended.
How to appeal an e-challan: If you think the ticket is wrong, visit the appeal desk listed on the back of your challan (desks at 11 police stations).

You’ll receive a token, a 3-member committee (SSP-led, a senior police officer, and a CPLC representative) reviews your case in 3 to 4 days.
The 21-day payment timer pauses during review. If approved, the challan is removed.

The E-challan system currently covers only Sindh registered plates.
Register with CNIC, mobile, and email to see all vehicles under your CNIC, violations, and warnings, useful for fixing habits and avoiding future fines.
