Severe heatwave conditions are expected across Sindh during the Eid ul Azha 2026 holidays, according to the weather reports. The temperatures are likely to rise up to 6°C above normal levels.
Health and weather experts have advised the public to take precautionary measures to avoid heat related illnesses during the extreme weather.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air is lingering over most parts of the country. This is leading to hot and dry weather conditions.
The Met Office has forecast very hot and dry weather in Karachi and other areas of Sindh during the Eid holidays. In upper and central districts, temperatures are expected to remain 4°C to 6°C above normal.
Daytime temperatures in several regions may rise between 47°C and 50°C. These include Sukkur, Shikarpur, Qambar Shahdadkot, Jacobabad, Larkana, Mohenjo daro, Dadu and Nawabshah.
In addition to this, Tharparkar, Badin, Sujawal, Thatta, Hyderabad, Matiari, Tando Muhammad Khan, Umerkot, Ghotki, Khairpur, Naushahro Feroze, Mirpur Khas, Jamshoro, and Sanghar.
In Karachi, temperatures are expected to remain between 35°C and 37°C on Wednesday. There is expected to be a slight drop to 34°C to 36°C on Thursday and Friday.
Hyderabad will face more intense heat, with highs of 42°C to 44°C on Wednesday and 41°C to 43°C in the following days.
During the past 24 hours, most parts of Sindh experienced extreme heat conditions. Jacobabad recorded a maximum temperature of 50°C. Mohenjo daro, Dadu, and Larkana reached around 47°C.
