As many as seven tourists died in a road incident near the Chilas area of the Diamer district here on Monday.
According to media reports, seven people, including a driver from Darel, lost their lives in a tragic road accident on the route to the popular tourist destination of Fairy Meadows in Diamer district.
The vehicle plunged into a deep ravine, killing all seven people on the spot. The victims included six tourists, four of whom were reportedly from Punjab and two from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Police, rescue teams, and local volunteers rushed to the scene after receiving reports of the accident and launched a recovery operation. The bodies were retrieved from the ravine and transferred to the Regional Headquarters Hospital in Chilas for legal and administrative formalities.
According to initial reports, two of the deceased tourists have been identified as Sajjad and Ali, while efforts are underway to identify the remaining victims. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
Expressing deep sorrow over the tragedy, the local administration has directed the relevant departments to provide all possible assistance and support to the affected families.
It is worth noting that Fairy Meadows is one of Pakistan’s most popular tourist destinations, attracting a large number of domestic and international visitors each year with its breathtaking natural beauty.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
