Islamabad traffic plan: Srinagar Highway to remain closed today

Islamabad Traffic police issued a traffic advisory for key routes in the federal capital. According to the details, the diversions are being implemented at various times on the Express Highway, Sirinagar Highway, Murree Road, and Club Road.

The advisory also confirmed that the flow of traffic can be impacted on the mentioned roads and highways. The Islamabad Traffic Police also directed citizens to use alternative routes during diversions on the mentioned roads and highways.

It is pertinent to mention that Islamabad Traffic Police officials are present on the roads to facilitate the citizens. As per the advisory, the citizens should travel with extra time to avoid any inconvenience on the roads.

The Islamabad Traffic Police urged citizens to cooperate with the traffic police and show patience.

Earlier, the National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) issued special safety guidelines for motorists as heavy traffic is expected on motorways and national highways following the conclusion of Eid holidays.

In a statement, the NHMP spokesperson said traffic volume is likely to increase significantly as thousands of travellers return to their home cities after spending the holidays in various tourist destinations across the country.

To ensure safe travel, motorists have been urged to strictly adhere to speed limits and traffic regulations while using motorways and highways. The motorway police also stressed the importance of maintaining lane discipline, staying focused on the road and wearing seat belts throughout the journey.
