Many travellers have been asking whether Qatar Airways has suspended its flight operations after strikes at Kuwait airport.
The latest update shows that Qatar Airways has not suspended its overall operations and continues to serve more than 120 destinations worldwide from its hub in Doha. However, some routes remain affected due to recent disruptions in the Gulf region.
The concerns emerged after a drone and missile attack struck Kuwait International Airport on June 3, 2026, damaging part of the passenger terminal and prompting Kuwait to temporarily close its airspace. Bahrain also briefly suspended air traffic operations before reopening its airspace.
While flight operations in Kuwait and Bahrain have gradually resumed, Qatar Airways has advised passengers to check their flight status before travelling, as schedules may change depending on regional developments.
The airline continues to operate flights to major destinations across the Middle East, South Asia, Europe, Africa, the Americas, and Australasia, including Islamabad, Karachi, Dubai, London, Bangkok, Singapore, New York, and Sydney.
However, several routes remain suspended or are operating on revised schedules. Flights to Kuwait City are currently under review and are tentatively scheduled to resume on June 16, 2026. Services to Istanbul remain suspended with no confirmed restart date, while Los Angeles and San Francisco flights are expected to resume on June 7 and June 11, respectively.
Qatar Airways is gradually restoring services as part of its summer schedule rollout, which will run from June 16 to September 15, 2026. The airline has also announced flexible rebooking and refund options for eligible passengers affected by travel disruptions.
According to the carrier, operational limitations continue due to restricted regional air corridors and the temporary grounding of its Airbus A380 fleet, which is now expected to return to service from June 16.
