Tourists visiting Naran are facing severe difficulties as hotels and guest houses have been reportedly completely booked due to an unusual surge in visitor numbers.
According to social media reports, tourist traffic in Naran has increased in recent days, leaving all hotels and guest houses fully occupied. As a result, newly arriving visitors are struggling to find accommodation.
A tourist reported that after a long search, they managed to secure a room in a tent-based temporary shelter, which cost Rs5,000, although the initial demand was Rs8,000.
The tourist further said that blankets provided in the harsh cold weather were insufficient, and the lack of basic facilities, especially washrooms, made the situation even more difficult.
Tourists have advised others not to travel to Naran under the current conditions and suggested choosing alternative destinations such as Kashmir, Murree, or other places with better facilities.
They also noted that the Babusar Top road is closed, and anyone still planning to travel should do so at their own risk.
Earlier, the district administration of Naran advised tourists, travellers, and transport operators to avoid unnecessary travel to Babusar Top due to ongoing snowfall in the region.
According to a travel advisory issued by the district administration, continuous snowfall has made road conditions hazardous and severely disrupted traffic movement.
In an official statement released through government-run media channels, authorities warned that the prevailing weather conditions could create serious difficulties for travellers.
The administration urged all visitors planning to travel to Babusar Top to check the latest weather updates before setting out, as conditions in the area can change rapidly.
Officials said that the accumulation of snow has significantly affected traffic flow on the Babusar Top route and surrounding areas, with one-way traffic being allowed at certain locations.
