Senior Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) leader Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri was once again rushed to a hospital in Quetta on Friday night after suffering from a heart-related complication.
According to details, Maulana Ghafoor Haideri was shifted to the hospital in an emergency condition due to a sudden heart problem, where doctors immediately provided medical care. His condition is being closely monitored by specialists.
It is worth mentioning that the veteran JUI central leader had faced a similar health issue earlier this year in February, when he was shifted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) in Islamabad after suffering a heart attack. He had undergone treatment and later recovered.
Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri is a seasoned politician and has long remained an important figure in JUI-F, serving as its central secretary general since 1995. He has also held key parliamentary positions, including Deputy Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan.
Born in June 1957 in the Kalat district of Balochistan, he completed his early education in his native area before pursuing religious studies and earning a certification from Wafaq-ul-Madaris Al-Arabia in 1979. He later established Jamia Shah Wali Ullah in Kalat and served there as a teacher.
His political journey began in the 1970s through religious movements, and he remained active in various campaigns, during which he was also imprisoned multiple times. Over the years, he has served in the Balochistan Assembly, National Assembly, and Senate, and was re-elected to the National Assembly in the 2024 general elections.
