Pakistan’s most popular car Suzuki Alto, could become more expensive following the federal budget proposals for the fiscal year 2026-27.
The expected increase comes along with the changes in taxation and levies proposed by the government, which may affect small engine vehicles and ultimately raise prices for consumers.
According to the report, the budget introduces measures that could increase the cost of locally assembled vehicles, including the Suzuki Alto, resulting in additional tax burden on customers and higher retail prices across various variants of the Alto.
Generally, the Suzuki Alto has remained one of Pakistan’s best-selling cars due to its relatively affordable price, fuel efficiency, and suitability for urban commuting. Any increase in its price is therefore expected to have a direct impact on a large segment of the market.
