The Pakistan national hockey team has arrived in Belgium to begin its campaign in the second leg of the Pro Hockey League.
Pakistan will open its European tour against the host nation, Belgium, on June 13 before taking on Spain on June 14. The Green Shirts will face Belgium again on June 19, followed by another clash against Spain on June 20.
The matches are part of Pakistan’s ongoing participation in the prestigious international hockey competition as the team looks to build momentum against some of the world’s top-ranked sides.
On June 21, the national team will travel to England, where Pakistan will meet arch-rivals India in London on June 23. Pakistan will then face England on June 24.
Pakistan and India will clash once again in London on June 26, before the national team concludes this leg of the tournament with another match against England on June 27.
It is worth mentioning here that the Pakistan Hockey Team had earlier finalised preparations for the Pro Hockey League.
During the camp in Lahore, the PHF has tried to provide all the facilities, including coaching and logistics, to the players. For the first time, the players’ deal allowances have also been paid in advance.
Coach Wasim Ahmed is likely to join the team management in place of goalkeeper coach Mazhar Abbas. The Pakistani team will have a squad of 20 members and five team management officials.
