South Africa has set a target of 140 runs for Pakistan to chase. A strong bowling performance helped Pakistan restrict South Africa to a modest total in the third and final T20I at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, on Saturday.

After winning the toss, Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha chose to field first. South Africa managed only 139 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs.

The Proteas had a disastrous start, losing Quinton de Kock and Lhuan-dre Pretorius to Shaheen Shah Afridi without scoring.

Dewald Brevis and Reeza Hendricks then tried to steady the innings with a 38-run stand before Brevis was dismissed by debutant Usman Tariq for 21 off 22 balls.

South Africa’s struggle continued as Mohammad Nawaz bowled Matthew Breetzke for just one, leaving the visitors at 42/4.

Skipper Donovan Ferreira tried to fight back with a quick 29 off 14 balls, including three sixes and a four, before falling to Faheem Ashraf.

The very next ball, Faheem dismissed George Linde for a duck, further denting South Africa’s innings.

Reeza Hendricks remained the top scorer for the Proteas with 34 off 36 balls, hitting two fours, before being removed by Usman Tariq in the 15th over.

Pakistan defeated South Africa by nine wickets in the second T20I at Gaddafi Stadium, keeping the series alive with a dominant all-round performance.

Chasing a target of 111, Pakistan comfortably reached the total in 13.1 overs with nine wickets in hand.

Opener Saim Ayub led the charge with an unbeaten 71 off 38 balls, hitting six fours and five sixes.

Sahibzada Farhan added 28 runs before being dismissed by Corbin Bosch, while skipper Babar Azam remained not out on 11.

Earlier, Pakistan’s bowlers dismantled South Africa for just 110 in 19.2 overs.

Faheem Ashraf starred with 4 wickets for 23 runs, while Salman Mirza impressed with 3 for 14. Naseem Shah took two wickets, and Abrar Ahmed claimed one.

For South Africa, Dewald Brevis was the top scorer with 25 runs off 16 balls.

Bosch was the only bowler to take a wicket for the visitors.

With this win, Pakistan levelled the series and will head into the final match with renewed confidence.
