The federal government has announced a reduction in petrol prices in Pakistan today, on Friday, 12 June 2026. According to the details, petrol has been reduced by Rs4 per litre, and the prices of high speed diesel have been reduced by Rs2 per litre today.
With the new rates, petrol will now cost Rs373.78 per litre. Before this, it was Rs377.78 per litre. High speed diesel will now cost Rs378.56 per litre instead of Rs380.56 per litre.
The Petroleum Division issued an official notification to confirm the new prices. The revised rates will be applied from 12 AM on 13 June 2026 at all fuel stations across the country.
This is the second consecutive reduction in fuel prices in the fortnightly review. Last week, petrol prices were also cut by Rs4 per litre. At that time, diesel prices were not changed and remained at Rs380.56 per litre.
Officials said petrol has now been reduced for the fifth time in a row. The latest cut includes both petrol and diesel, which will give relief to consumers, transporters, and industries that depend on fuel for daily use.
Petrol pump owners urge govt to adopt monthly fuel price reviews
Petrol pump owners across Pakistan have asked the government today to introduce a monthly fuel price review system instead of changing prices more frequently.
They said that the regular changes in petrol and diesel prices are causing financial and operational problems for fuel retailers and affecting business activities.
According to their representatives, frequent price revisions create uncertainty and make daily operations more difficult.
They added that the regular changes in fuel prices can also confuse consumers. Further, they add that they can also make it harder for petrol pump owners to estimate their income and expenses.
Petrol pump owners also believe that a monthly pricing system would bring more stability to the sector, according to the reports.
