Pakistan women’s team to begin T20 World Cup campaign against India on June 14

The Pakistani women’s team will kick off its ICC Women’s T20 World Cup campaign on June 14 in Birmingham, facing off against their long-time rivals, the India Women’s Cricket Team.

The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 has officially commenced in England, signaling the start of one of the largest events in women’s cricket.

The opening match of this grand tournament will feature the host team, England Women’s Cricket Team, going up against Sri Lanka Women’s Cricket Team, set to start at 10:30 pm Pakistan Standard Time.

Following their opener, the Pakistan women’s team will take on South Africa on June 17, and then play against Bangladesh on June 20 in Southampton.

Their fourth group match is scheduled against Australia on June 23 in Leeds, with the final group-stage game against the Netherlands on June 27 in Bristol.

The team is captained by Fatima Sana and includes players like Muneeba Ali, Gull Feroza, Ayesha Zafar, Iram Javed, Eyman Fatima, and Aliya Riaz, along with Natalia Pervaiz, Sadaf Shamas, Tuba Hassan, Ramin Shamim, Sadia Iqbal, Nashra Sandhu, Diana Baig, and Tasmia Rubab.

Pakistan to host ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026

Earlier, the International Cricket Council (ICC) awarded Pakistan the hosting rights for the long-awaited World Cup.

Following the ICC Champions Trophy, Pakistan will now also host the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

It is important to note that matches involving the Indian team will be played at neutral venues.

The host country has been given approval at the ICC meeting. A total of 12 teams will participate in the international tournament.
