Two men, identified as Mustafa Salik and Irfan Kamal, have been charged with possessing stolen property linked to the England national football team’s equipment during the FIFA World Cup in the United States.
According to a foreign news agency, the stolen items were valued at approximately $ 18,000 and included England team kits and other equipment.
Authorities said the equipment was stolen while it was being transported from England’s training camp in Florida to the team’s World Cup base in Kansas City. Under state law, the offence carries a maximum penalty of seven years in prison.
It is worth mentioning here that England’s World Cup preparations had suffered an unexpected setback after thieves reportedly broke into a vehicle carrying the team’s equipment in Kansas City.
According to British media reports, several items were stolen, including players’ training boots and footballs. The equipment had been shipped to the United States ahead of the squad’s arrival for the tournament.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, with police working alongside the Football Association to recover the stolen items and determine the full extent of the loss.

Reports state that the equipment had been sent to Kansas City before the team’s arrival. England’s players and coaching staff were scheduled to arrive in the city on Saturday.
