Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan underwent a follow-up examination of his affected eye and was administered the fifth dose of an intravitreal injection as part of his ongoing medical treatment.
According to jail sources, Imran Khan was transferred from Adiala Jail to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) late at night under strict security arrangements, where doctors conducted a comprehensive examination of his eye.
Following the medical assessment, he received the required injection as part of the treatment plan prescribed by specialists. Sources said that four intravitreal injections had previously been administered, and the latest dose was a continuation of the same course of treatment.
After the procedure, Imran Khan was shifted back to Adiala Jail.
PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan also confirmed the medical examination, stating that the PTI founder had been taken from Adiala Jail to PIMS Hospital for the scheduled check-up and treatment.
Health and eye treatment
Concerns about Imran Khan’s health have also been raised by his sisters during his time in custody.
Media reports suggest he has undergone medical check-ups, including treatment related to his eyes, while in jail.
He received treatment from specialists at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) in Islamabad, where he was provided with proper medical care.
Officials have not shared detailed medical updates publicly, but say arrangements are made as required.
