Trump says US has no plans to invest in Iran

Trump says he will attend FIFA World Cup 2026

The President of the United States Donald Trump has rejected the claims that financial payouts will be provided by Washington to Iran.

He labelled the reports of American funding to Iran as fake news. The report suggests that America will pay Iran for a multi-billion-dollar reconstruction package.

Trump on his social media platform Truth social asserted that nothing was going to be paid to Iran. He posted that the story that United States is going to be paying 300 million dollars to the Islamic Republic of Iran is fake news.

In his post the figure he posted was 300 million dollars. It remains unclear whether it was a typing mistake or whether he was contradicting the much larger sum of 300 billion dollars which was being cited by other administration officials and international media.

The US President also said similar things while speaking at the G7 summit too. He said that the United States does not owe any investment to Iran.

Regarding Israel, he said that he did not like how Israel handled Lebanon.

However, JD Vance the Vice President of the United States said that if any kind of $300 billion fund is sourced to Iran it will be through regional allies and not the tax payer money of America.

He said to NBC news that not a single dime of the money will be coming for USA.

He also revealed that Gulf countries might choose to invest in Tehran if they choose to make its economy investable and Iran starts behaving like a normal country.

It was also confirmed by a US official that while a multi-billion-dollar fund was part of the ongoing discussions, all financial payout will be tied directly to the behaviour of Iran.
