The categories of players under the revamped central contracts will be kept confidential according to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
The new grading system and structure were introduced on Monday.
In a statement, earlier this week, the cricket board confirmed that the central contract structure is now moving away from traditional category-based grading system of A, B, C and D contracts.
The old traditional system will be replaced with a format-specific model built around five distinct player tracks.
There will be different Tracks according to the newly introduced structure. The Track AB will feature the players who are able to play and perform well in both ODI and Test cricket.
In Track A only players performing in red-ball cricket will be included. The Track BC will now cover T20 international and ODIs.
For players who are just focused on T20 and franchise cricket they will be placed in Track C. The last track, Track D is for the players who are in their developmental phases at the National Cricket Academy system.
The category in which a player will be placed will not be disclosed. The contracts will be reviewed in each cycle according to a PCB document.
The central contract tracks of players will not be public knowledge, the PCB has decided.
It has also been revealed by insiders that the centrally contracted players are instructed to always remain available for domestic cricket when there are no international assignments.
It is important to note that the implementation of a format-specific model does not mean that centrally contracted players will not be eligible for all three formats. A cricketer from any Track could be added to the national team when needed.
