During the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2026 in the United States, players of the German national football team were left shaken after a venomous snake reportedly entered their training camp.
According to international media reports, Germany captain Joshua Kimmich confirmed that a poisonous snake was spotted inside the team’s training facility. The incident prompted immediate safety measures, with players and coaching staff advised to exercise extra caution while moving around the camp.
Speaking to reporters, Kimmich said that after the snake was seen at the camp, players and coaching staff were instructed to take extra precautions.”We have been told that the snake is venomous, and if anyone is bitten, they should go to the hospital immediately,” he said.
Kimmich added that although such snake bites are not usually life-threatening, they can still be dangerous and require prompt medical attention. According to German media reports, the snake was likely a copperhead, a venomous species commonly found in the area.
Meanwhile, the Austrian national team has reportedly banned players from using bicycles at their training camp because of concerns about snakes in the surrounding area.
On the other hand, Brazilian star forward Neymar’s participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup remains uncertain after he underwent further tests on his injured right leg.
According to international media reports, the 34-year-old was expected to resume training with the Brazil squad on Tuesday. However, instead of joining his teammates, Neymar visited a medical clinic for additional examinations, raising fresh concerns over his fitness ahead of the tournament.
