YouTube is rolling out a redesigned video interface aimed at improving user experience and making navigation more streamlined across the platform.
According to reports, the video-sharing platform is introducing a cleaner layout that reorganises key controls and information displayed on video pages. The update is intended to reduce visual clutter and make commonly used features easier to access.
Under the new design, the comments section will appear more prominently beneath videos, allowing users to engage with discussions more quickly. Channel-related functions, including subscription options and access to channel pages, have also been simplified. Instead of displaying extensive channel information, the interface will primarily highlight the channel logo and username.
The redesign also groups interactive buttons such as like, dislike, share, and YouTube’s AI-powered “Ask” feature into a single horizontal row positioned alongside channel details. The change is expected to make video interactions more intuitive and efficient.
Meanwhile, less frequently used options such as save, download, and report will be relocated to an overflow menu, helping create a more organised viewing experience.
YouTube is also enlarging video titles to improve readability, particularly for mobile users, reflecting the platform’s continued focus on mobile-first design enhancements.
A key element of the update is the increased visibility of the AI-driven “Ask YouTube” feature, which enables users to obtain information and interact with video content through artificial intelligence tools.
Industry analysts view the redesign as part of a wider trend among technology companies to simplify interfaces while integrating AI-powered features to boost engagement and enhance user interaction.
The updated interface is being introduced gradually and is expected to reach users in different regions over the coming weeks.
