KARACHI: The Karachi Traffic Police have announced a detailed traffic plan for the Pakistan International Maritime Expo & Conference (PIMEC-2025).
As per details, the event will take place from November 3 to 6 at the Expo Centre Karachi.
According to the traffic the plan, alternative routes and heavy-vehicle restrictions have been placed across major city roads for a smooth traffic flow during the international event.
The plan stated that diversions and filter points will be implemented at key locations. Karsaz, Millennium Mall, Nipa Chowrangi, New Town, and Liaquatabad will have diversions. Heavy and commercial vehicles from Nursery via Shahrae Faisal towards the stadium will not be permitted through Habib Ibrahim Rehmatullah and Sir Shah Suleman Roads. Motorists from Karsaz and Drigh Road are advised to use Rashid Minhas Road via Millennium Mall and Nipa.
Similarly, heavy vehicles from Rashid Minhas Road will not be allowed to enter Dalmia Road near Millennium Mall. Instead, they may take alternate routes through Nipa, Askari IV, or Drigh Road towards Shahrae Faisal. At Nipa Chowrangi, heavy traffic heading towards Hassan Square will be restricted, with diversions available via Gulshan Chowrangi and Sohrab Goth.
In New Town, heavy traffic will not be allowed on Stadium or University Road and will instead be diverted towards Shaheed-e-Millat Road through Baloch Pull. Restrictions will also apply at Liaquatabad No.10, where heavy vehicles heading towards Hassan Square must use Shahrah-e-Pakistan via Karimabad. Additional diversions will be in place between 8am–10am and 3pm–5pm for vehicles from Liaquatabad and Gharibabad.

Citizens have been advised not to park on main or service roads near the event venue and to cooperate with on-duty officers. For guidance and live traffic updates, commuters can contact the Karachi Traffic Police Helpline (1915) or tune in to FM 88.6. “Public cooperation is essential to avoid inconvenience and ensure a smooth flow of traffic during the international maritime event,” the police spokesperson emphasized.
