Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) gave an important briefing to journalists today, covering key national security and internal security.

Gaza Peacekeeping Force

Regarding the possibility of sending a peacekeeping force to Gaza, the DG ISPR said the decision rests entirely with the government and the parliament.

The DG ISPR said the government alone has the authority to decide on the imposition of Governor’s Rule. He reaffirmed that the Pakistan Army does not wish to get involved in politics.

He said that the Army should be kept away from political matters.

DG ISPR Responds to KP CM’s Remarks

According to a journalist present at the meeting, another journalist asked the DG ISPR what his opinion was on the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa making a narrative about “collateral damage”.

In response, the DG ISPR said, “The main objective of the government and the state is performance and governance. If someone prefers political statements and allegations to make up for this lack of performance and governance, what should we do about it?”

India Preparing Another False Flag Operation

The DG ISPR said India seems to be preparing for another false flag operation at sea. He warned that any such attempt would face a stronger response than before.

TTP is a branch of the Afghan Taliban

The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has pledged allegiance to the emir of the Afghan Taliban, effectively operating as its branch, said DG ISPR.

According to him, the Afghan Taliban are now settling Fitna al-Khawarij terrorists in densely populated areas to create a protective shield for them.

Our response in Afghanistan has been swift, and efforts are underway to resolve matters with the Afghan authorities, he said.

Pakistan’s one-point agenda is clear: Afghan soil must not be used against us. This year, security forces carried out 62,113 operations, mostly in Balochistan. Over the past three to four months, terrorists killed during infiltrations from Afghanistan included many foreign fighters, and about 60 per cent of those killed were Afghans, according to the DG ISPR.

Drug Smugglers Interfering in Afghan Politics

Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif revealed that the interference of drug smugglers in Afghan politics has increased, and large quantities of drugs are being smuggled into Pakistan from there.

The Pakistan Army spokesperson further said that the army does not want to get involved in politics, so it should be kept away from it.

He said that intelligence-based operations are being conducted successfully in Tirah and other areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to him, 1667 terrorists have been killed so far during the ongoing operation against Fitna-al-Khawarij.

The DG ISPR also said that some political criminals and terrorist groups in the country are becoming an obstacle to preventing crime and smuggling.

He stressed that all state institutions are making full efforts to restore law and order in the country, and these operations will continue until the complete eradication of terrorism.

The DG ISPR further noted that in 2014, during the launch of the National Action Plan, there were around 38,000 madrassas in the country. That number has now risen to over 100,000, while the registration of these madrassas still remains unresolved.
