A fire has broken out at the H-9 Sunday Bazaar near Peshawar Mor in Islamabad today. According to initial reports, many shops have been engulfed by the fire.
No injuries or deaths have been reported yet. The reason for the fire is also unknown as of now.
As a result of the fire, several shops and stalls were burnt to ashes, reports say. Fire brigade vehicles and rescue personnel immediately reached the spot and started operations to control the fire.

According to the reports, additional vehicles and personnel of Rescue 1122 were also called from Rawalpindi to prevent the fire from spreading further.
According to media reports, a terrible fire broke out suddenly in the cheap market located in the H-9 area of the federal capital, and it quickly engulfed a large part of the market.
Incidents of fire in the H9 Saste Bazaar have also occurred in the past. In July 2024, a 9-member committee was formed to investigate a major fire in the market. Before that, about 100 stalls were reduced to ashes in a fire in July 2018.
Similarly, in August 2017, a major fire incident took place in the Saste Bazaar in which more than 500 stalls and goods worth lakhs of rupees were destroyed.
Murree Expressway van fire
Earlier this month, a tourist van caught fire on the Murree Expressway.
Initial reports from the District Police Officer (DPO) of Murree said that at least six people had died and several others suffered burn injuries. The injured were shifted to PIMS Hospital.
The Hi Ace van was travelling from Islamabad to Murree when it suddenly caught fire. It prompted an immediate emergency response.
Motorway police and Murree administration officials reached the scene and started rescue operations.
Later, the death toll rose to 10, including children, while 13 others were injured. According to reports, all 23 passengers belonged to the same family.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed grief over the loss of lives and directed authorities to provide the best possible treatment to the injured.
