‘Justice delayed, but served’: CM Bugti pays tribute to Shaheed Shabbir Baloch

Chief Minister (CM) of Balochistan paid tribute to Shaheed Shabbir Baloch on Wednesday, saying that justice had been delayed but certainly served.

Taking to the social media platform X, formerly Twitter, he said, “Shaheed Shabir Baloch was not merely a uniformed officer; he was the tender piece of a mother’s liver, the pillar of support for a sister and brother, and a loyal and devoted companion to his friends.”

Then talking about his martyrdom, the CM wrote, “The brutality and savagery with which he was martyred by being stoned to death is a heart-wrenching tragedy, sufficient to shake the conscience of humanity to its core.”

CM Bugti also talked about the martyr’s mother. He said, “His innocent mother endured two long years of patience and steadfastness in pursuit of justice.”

Further adding, CM Bugti wrote, “Finally, the law took its course: the court delivered its verdict based on the facts, and the killers were punished.”

“That was the moment when, after years of grief and sorrow, a mother’s aching heart found some measure of peace and solace, and she realised that while justice had indeed been delayed, it had certainly been served,” the CM concluded.

‘Justice finally served to Balochistan’s son’: CM Bugti

Before this, on Monday, CM Bugti said, “During duty in Gwadar city, he was martyred by enraged BYC protesters who stoned him to death under the leadership of Mahrang Lango.”

He further added that today, following the court’s sentencing of Mahrang Lango and her associates, the Government of Balochistan’s stance has been proven correct.

“The Government of Balochistan expresses solidarity with the family of Martyr Shabbir Baloch on the sentencing of his killers and assures them that the martyr’s blood will not go to waste,” he added further.

Mahrang Lango sentenced

Earlier on Monday, Mahrang Lango was sentenced in connection with the mob killing of an FC soldier during the Gwadar Raji Muchi protest.

The incident took place in February 2024, when Mahrang Lango and her associates organised a march under the banner of Raji Muchi.

According to the reports, the march began in Quetta. Reports add that unrest was witnessed at several locations along the route.

Authorities also alleged that terrorists accompanying the convoy carried out multiple attacks on security forces during the period.
