A fire erupted in the Tench Bhatta landa bazar on Tuesday midnight, destroying 25 of the stalls completely.

The fire caused a great extent of damage to the traders, as most of their goods were burned to the ground.

The blaze broke out suddenly at the Landa Bazaar in Mehrban Market, near Dispensary Ground, before spreading rapidly through the closely packed stalls.

Thick smoke and flames were visible from a distance as local residents gathered at the scene and tried to help contain the fire before emergency services arrived.

Rescue 1122 and fire brigade teams reached the market soon after receiving reports of the incident and launched firefighting operations.

The officials briefed that the fire was brought under control after sustained efforts, while cooling operations continued to prevent it from reigniting.

According to rescue authorities, no casualties were reported in the incident. However, dozens of stalls were destroyed, and traders are feared to have suffered losses worth millions of rupees as goods stored inside the shops were reduced to ashes.

The cause of the fire has not yet been established. Police have launched an investigation to determine how the blaze started.

If more official details emerge, such as the estimated value of the losses or the suspected cause of the fire, they are expected to be included in the investigation report.
