Canva down again: Users report image upload error

Online graphic design platform Canva appears to be experiencing technical issues, with users in Pakistan and several other countries reporting problems uploading images.

According to user reports and outage tracking website Downdetector, the issue began affecting users who were attempting to upload new images to the platform.

Users trying to upload files are receiving an error message that reads: “We were unable to upload ‘image.png’. You might be logged out, offline or Canva’s servers are unreachable.”

While the image upload feature appears to be affected, the rest of Canva’s services remain largely operational. Users have reported that existing projects and other design tools continue to function normally.

The exact cause of the issue has not yet been identified, and Canva has not issued an official statement regarding the reported outage or image upload errors.

The company is expected to provide an update if the issue persists or affects a larger number of users.

Is Claude Design going to replace Canva?

Claude Design may initially appear to be in competition with the well-known design application Canva, which has recently improved its AI features, Anthropic clarified that the intention is to complement rather than replace it.

The company emphasised that its new product is designed for individuals who are not starting with a design tool and require a swift transition from an idea to a visual representation.

After teams create presentation decks or prototypes, they can export them as PDFs, URLs, PPTX files, or send them directly to Canva.

Once imported into Canva, these creations are fully editable and collaborative, according to Anthropic.

Claude Design also has the capability to apply a team’s design system to every project it generates, ensuring that the outcomes align with the company’s overall visual style.

Anthropic explains that the new application achieves this by analysing a company’s codebase and design files. Furthermore, teams can refine these elements and manage multiple design systems.
