Entertainment journalist Momin Ali Munshi spilt the beans about what really went wrong for the superstar and charming Fawad Khan in the film and drama industry.

The journalist believes political tensions, limited opportunities in Pakistan and careful career choices all played a role in slowing Fawad Khan’s momentum after his successful Bollywood stint.

Speaking in a recent interview, Momin shared his candid views on Fawad Khan’s career following his breakthrough in Bollywood, claiming the actor became “too big for Pakistan” after achieving international recognition.

Reflecting on Fawad’s journey after the phenomenal success of Humsafar, Momin said the actor’s career was poised to reach even greater heights after starring in Bollywood hits such as Khoobsurat and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

According to Momin, political tensions between Pakistan and India ultimately disrupted the careers of Pakistani artists working across the border, preventing Fawad from building an even stronger profile in terms of fame and financial success.

He added that returning to Pakistan brought a different set of challenges, as the country’s entertainment industry operates on a much smaller scale with comparatively lower production and advertising budgets.

“I felt Fawad Khan became too big for Pakistan,” Momin said.

He also explained that several crucial years passed while Fawad carefully weighed his career options. In Momin’s view, the actor made a calculated decision by not rushing back to television dramas.

Momin argued that there was no guarantee that Fawad’s comeback dramas would match the success of his earlier projects, and that any failure could have damaged the reputation he had built through his Bollywood career.

He concluded that although the circumstances were unfortunate, avoiding projects that carried a high risk of failure may have been a strategic move on Fawad Khan’s part.

Meanwhile, social media users also shared mixed reactions to Fawad’s career trajectory, with many debating whether circumstances or career decisions had the greater impact on his post-Bollywood journey.

Fawad Khan rose to stardom through acclaimed Pakistani dramas Humsafar, Zindagi Gulzar Hai and Dastaan before making a successful transition to Bollywood with films including Khoobsurat, Kapoor & Sons and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
