Fight erupts between two PTI groups near Adiala jail

A fight erupted between the two groups of PTI workers near Adiala Jail during the regular PTI protest, the private media outlet reported on Tuesday.

According to the details, the PTI workers beat each other up and tore eachother’s clothes during a protest in front of Adiala jail.

The media report confirmed that the fight erupted when a group of PTI workers tried to meet Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Aleema Khan, and the other group of workers attacked them.

Aleema Khan and other sisters of PTI founder Imran Khan were also present during the fight.

In a viral video of the fight, it can be seen that PTI workers are brutally punching each other.

On the other hand, two drug abusers were arrested near the Adiala jail factory check post.

The police have transferred the arrested individuals to the Adiala post, bringing the total number of those taken into custody to five.

Earlier, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly had drafted a bill that proposes to significantly increase the powers of the Speaker, Deputy Speaker and members of the provincial assembly, grant exemptions in several matters, and impose restrictions on journalists, according to reports on Tuesday.

According to the draft bill, the Speaker will have the authority to bar any journalist from covering assembly proceedings. Additionally, they may even ban them from coverage for a specified period.

The Speaker will also have the power to prohibit the publication or broadcast of any assembly proceedings.

Under the proposed law, a journalist who violates such a restriction could face up to six months in prison and a fine of up to Rs1 million.
