Trump says MOU with Iran "is over"

US President Donald Trump has declared that the memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Iran is effectively “over” after fresh military strikes and escalating tensions between the two countries, Reuters reported.

Speaking to reporters, Trump said he no longer saw any value in engaging with Tehran after the United States launched new military strikes on Iran and revoked a licence that had allowed the country to sell oil.

The latest US actions came in response to attacks on three tankers, marking another setback for a fragile ceasefire agreement in a conflict that has faced widespread criticism in Europe.

When asked whether the memorandum with Iran was still in effect, Trump replied, “It’s a very interesting question. To me, I think it’s over. I don’t want to deal with them.”

The US president also launched a scathing attack on Iran’s leadership, saying, “They’re scum. They’re sick people. They’re led by sick people.”

“As far as I’m concerned, it’s just a waste of time dealing with them,” Trump added.

United States (US) President Donald Trump received a warm welcome from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Ankara. On Trump’s arrival in Türkiye, he was given a guard of honour, the private media outlet reported on Tuesday.

During a press conference in Ankara, the US President said that he respects Turkish President Tayyip Erdoğan so much.

Trump also praised the Turkish military, saying that the Turkish military is the strongest in the world. President Trump stated that the US has no issue with the Türkiye-Russia defence deal, adding that he has no issue with Türkiye for obtaining F-35 fighter jets.

Similarly, Trump said he is not happy with NATO, adding, “If Türkiye were not the host, I probably wouldn’t attend the NATO summit.”
Trump also confirmed that “we will talk about trade and business in Türkiye.”

“We will talk about the military as well,” Trump added.

President Trump also said that Türkiye is one of the greatest allies of the US. He also said, ” It’s time to remove US sanctions on Türkiye.”

Trump added, “There are plenty of people who can sanction… We don’t want to have sanctioned friends.”

Trump concluded that the US does not need anyone’s help regarding Iran.
