Supreme Court announces 18 vacancies for Law Clerkship Programme

The Supreme Court of Pakistan has announced 18 vacancies for its one-year Law Clerkship Programme.

According to the announcement, chosen candidates will start their clerkship in August, November and December 2026, and February 2027.

The application form, eligibility criteria and other terms and conditions are available on the Supreme Court’s official website at www.supremecourt.gov.pk.

Interested candidates can apply after reading the advertisement and checking the eligibility requirements.

Last date

The last date to submit applications is July 23, 2026, on Thursday.

Supreme Court employees to get increase in utility allowance

Recently, the Supreme Court also approved a 100 per cent increase in the utility allowance for its employees.

According to an official notification, the revised allowance will take effect from July 1, 2026. It will cover gas and electricity costs for court employees and officers.

Employees from Grade 1 to Grade 6 will now receive Rs12,000 per month instead of Rs6,000. The allowance for Grades 7 to 10 has increased from Rs8,000 to Rs16,000. And employees in Grades 11 to 15 will receive Rs20,000 instead of Rs10,000.

Grade 16 officers will receive Rs24,000. The Grade 17 officers will get Rs30,000. The allowance for Grade 18 officers has increased to Rs36,000.

Grade 19 officers will now receive Rs42,000, Grade 20 officers will get Rs48,000, and officers in Grade 21 and above will receive Rs60,000 per month.

The additional cost of the increase will be paid from the approved budget for the 2026-27 fiscal year.

Islamabad police announces new jobs

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi has announced that the Islamabad Police will recruit 9,000 new personnel, according to reports on Wednesday.

Speaking at a press conference, the IGP said that the recruitment will include Assistant Sub Inspectors (ASIs), Sub Inspectors (SIs), Direct Inspectors, and other posts.

He said that many police officers are close to retirement, so the force needs more young officers.
