Operation Shabaan 75 dead since July 5

Pakistan Armed Forces, including FC Balochistan, and police have continued Operation Shabaan against Fitna Al Khawarij following the terrorist attack on the Mangi Dam Police Station, with a series of ground and aerial operations underway in the mountainous areas of Balochistan, according to security sources.

Security sources said 26 Khawarij had already been killed during operations carried out on July 6 and 7.

Over the past 24 hours, security forces killed another 13 terrorists, raising the total number of militants killed during Operation Shabaan to 39.

The sources said the ongoing operation has tightened the security forces’ cordon around militant hideouts in difficult mountainous terrain, with both ground troops and helicopters taking part in the offensive.

Separately, security sources said an attack on a police station in the Zehri area of Khuzdar district early Friday morning was successfully repelled.

According to the sources, Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps (FC) troops responded swiftly, killing eight militants during the operation. They added that another five to six militants are also believed to have been killed in helicopter strikes, although those reports are yet to be independently confirmed.

Security sources further claimed that since July 5, a total of 75 terrorists have been killed in Operation Shabaan and other intelligence-based operations conducted across the province.
