PDMA issues rain, dust storm alert across Sindh

Heavy rain expected tonight in several areas; Public urged to take precautions

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Sindh on Sunday issued an alert for rain and dust storms in several districts of the province.

PDMA Director General Salman Shah warned that dust storms and rain are likely to hit Dadu and Qambar-Shahdadkot on Sunday.

He also said rainfall is expected in Tharparkar, Sukkur, Shikarpur, Larkana, Dadu, Jacobabad, Naushahro Feroz, Shaheed Benazirabad and Sanghar districts.

The DG PDMA directed all concerned departments and district administrations to remain on high alert and take precautionary measures to deal with any emergency.

Earlier, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecast mainly hot and very humid weather across most parts of Sindh. However, it said isolated rain, windstorms and thunderstorms are likely in Tharparkar, Sukkur, Shikarpur, Larkana, Dadu and Jacobabad on July 12 and 13.

The following areas have witnessed rainfall in Islamabad: F-6, F-7, F-11, G-sector, Pak Secretariat and other areas.
