The well-known Pakistani actor Faisal Qureshi said that India doesn’t want Pakistani content to be on Netflix, the private media outlet reported on Tuesday.
During a recent podcast, Faisal Qureshi said that there are two reasons that Pakistani content is not available on Netflix: one is that India doesn’t want Pakistan to get access to publish its content on Netflix. The other reason, he said, is the limited business of Netflix in Pakistan.
Faisal Qureshi also said that Pakistani content will not be seen on Netflix until we (Pakistanis) show the complete reality of our country. He further added that Netflix want every country to show the truth, including societal problems, injustices, and even the dark realities.
Faisal Qureshi further said that making films on true realities in Pakistan is not easy, adding that if a filmmaker shows the complete truth in their film, it would be difficult for them to live in the country.
He mentioned Netflix’s limited revenue in Pakistan, saying, “Most Pakistanis do not pay for their own Netflix subscriptions. Instead, they use accounts shared by friends or relatives living abroad.
For this reason, Netflix does not generate the same level of revenue from Pakistan as it does from India, where the market is much larger.
