'Brother as bride': what is truth behind 17-year-old Real Azan's wedding

Lahore based digital creator Real Azan has come under intense scrutiny on social media after users claimed that his widely shared wedding ceremony was a publicity stunt designed to gain views and followers.

The controversy began after videos and photos from Azan’s nikah and mehndi ceremonies went viral across social media platforms.

After these posts went viral, his Instagram following reportedly increased from around 60,000 to more than 82,000. Additionally, the videos also attracted hundreds of thousands of views in India.

However, many social media users have questioned the authenticity of the wedding. These also include some of his longtime followers

According to viral claims circulating online, the bride seen in the videos was not a woman but Azan’s younger brother, who has previously appeared in his older vlogs.

Users have compared facial features in the videos and alleged that the younger brother was dressed as a bride using a wig and makeup.

Despite the allegations, Real Azan has denied the claims. The creator has insisted that the nikah was genuine. However, many social media users remain unconvinced.

No independent evidence has emerged to verify the claims made by social media users, and the allegations remain unconfirmed.

Netizens react

One user commented that the “bride” was actually “a boy wearing a wig,” while others claimed the entire wedding was staged to generate online engagement.

Some users said they had suspected from the beginning that the videos were staged. Others joked that they were relieved the marriage was allegedly not real after feeling pressured by seeing someone so young getting married. Others described the viral wedding as nothing more than an attempt to gain fame.

Some netizens even drew comparisons to the Nadia meri bago meme.

Previously, “Meri Bago” videos featuring the popular duo went viral on social media. However, many users were left surprised after claims emerged that Nadia is actually a man.

According to videos circulating on social media, the person behind the viral phrase “Nadia meri sohni… swani meri bago” was a man named Nadir.
