SIC Head Sahibzada Hamid Raza Arrested from Faisalabad

FAISALABAD: Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) Chairman Sahibzada Hamid Raza, has been arrested by Islamabad police.

As per details, Sahibzada Hamid Raza was travelling from Peshawar to Faisalabad to surrender before the court when he was detained.

SIC chief Sahibzada Hamid Raza, was presented before the anti-terrorism court.

The former member of the assembly had been sentenced to 10 years in prison by the court in connection with the May 9 case and was arrested from Islamabad.

He was traveling from Peshawar to Faisalabad when Islamabad police arrested him.

Hamid Raza was sentenced on July 31 along with PTI leaders including Omar Ayub, Shibli Faraz, and Zartaj Gul.

Earlier, former-Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) information secretary Ahmad Jawad was also arrested from Islamabad.

As per details, the ex-PTI secretary Ahmad Jawad was arrested under the PECA act.

It is pertinent to mention here that in 2022, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had expelled former central secretary information Ahmad Jawad from the party.

According to a statement, Ahmed Jawad s party membership was revoked on baseless allegations against the leadership. His party membership was revoked by the PTI s standing committee on discipline and accountability.
