PESHAWAR: Peshawar High Court (PHC) has barred the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government from using official resources in political activities and personal use.

The orders were issued by PHC stating that government funds, vehicles, and staff must not be used for political gatherings, personal use.

The petitioner informed the court that such practices violate Articles 4, 5, and 25 of the Constitution and lead to the misuse of the national treasury.

The court was told that government machinery used in protests remains in the custody of the federal government.

Peshawar High Court stated that the state must draw a clear line between official duties and political activities. It noted that using public resources for political events constitutes an abuse of power and undermines public trust.

The order directs authorities to immediately stop the use of government resources in rallies, meetings, and protest marches, stressing that public assets are meant for service to the nation, not for political advantage.
