The Abbottabad Traffic Police has implemented special facilitation measures through Pehchan app for motorcycle riders connected with the Bykea service.
Following the directives of the SSP Traffic, provisions have been established for riders who have not yet acquired driving licenses.
Such riders are encouraged to visit the Pehchan App office with their learner’s permits, where they will take an on-the-spot driving test as part of the registration process.
Those who pass will receive their driving licenses immediately, simplifying the legal compliance process for gig-based transport workers.
Officials have said that this initiative aims to assist Bykea riders in fulfilling legal obligations while improving traffic discipline in Abbottabad.
Pehchan app scope expanded to improve public transport
Additionally, the Traffic Police of Abbottabad has resolved to broaden the scope of its digital registration initiative through the “Pehchan” application, with the goal of improving public transport management and road safety throughout the city.
Under the guidance of SSP Traffic Abbottabad, Muhammad Ishtiaq, the campaign has progressed to its second phase. After the successful registration of motorcycle riders in the initial phase, authorities have now begun the registration of locally operated carry “Dabba” vehicles used as taxis within the Pehchan system.
As part of this ongoing initiative, SSP Traffic Muhammad Ishtiaq has visited various locations to personally oversee the registration process of these public service vehicles. During these visits, he provided on-the-spot directives to ensure transparency, efficiency, and the smooth execution of the initiative.
The Traffic Police officially launched a city-wide campaign, under which all motorcycles and public service vehicles operating locally will gradually be added into the digital database.
Officials have stated that this initiative aims to organise the transport sector, improve passenger safety, and ensure a quick response in the case of emergencies or unexpected incidents.
