Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has stated that Afghans are not trustworthy and emphasised that Operation Ghazb lil Haq should continue until the threat is eliminated.
In an interview, the Defence Minister said that attacks are being carried out from Afghanistan into Pakistan and added Fitna al Khawarij and Fitna al Hindustan will not be spared.
According to him, the current behaviour of the Afghan government and people has never been acceptable, neither in the past, nor today, nor will it be in the future. Pakistan has made numerous attempts to resolve these issues through dialogue, he added.
Responding to a question, Khawaja Asif further stated that Afghanistan has always supported terrorists. He asserted that if it were not for Afghanistan’s support, these terrorist groups would have been eliminated long ago. It is necessary to bring the current situation to its logical conclusion.
He also remarked that India has directly waged war against Pakistan, and that Pakistan has successfully defeated an enemy five times its size. He claimed that India takes advantage of every situation that harms Pakistan.
Report regarding Pakistan’s Afghanistan policy presented
On the other hand, a written report was presented in the Senate by the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar regarding Pakistan’s Afghanistan policy and the protection of national interests.
The report was presented in the Upper House by Ishaq Dar, stating that Pakistan will not compromise on its sovereignty or the security of its people. It emphasised that concrete measures are essential against terrorist organisations operating in Afghanistan.
According to the report, the Afghan Taliban regime ignored threats of terrorism originating from Afghan soil into Pakistan and continued to support the banned Fitna al Khawarij, which led to cross-border clashes.
The report added that Pakistan has only responded to provocations in self-defence, targeting terrorist hideouts in border areas.
